Beris BLACK bits are made of stainless steel and sweet iron. The surface is extremely smooth and slides very gentle in the horse´s mouth.

The black sweet iron parts of a beris BLACK bit are designed to get a light rust coating. Horses like the taste of the sweet iron, it encourages more salivation and chewing. Sweet iron bits are a solid iron core and the surface rust does not degrade their strength.

This design allows the joints of the bit to rest flatly and broadly on the horse’s tongue. When rein pressure is applied, all parts of the bit work together to distribute the pressure evenly and comfortably. The unusual mobility of the bit encourages salivation and chewing. The eggbut-shaped sockets on the sides means that it is nearly impossible for the horse’s lips to get pinched.
